The highest of football highs, the lowest of football lows, irrational confidence, irrational non-confidence (if that’s even a word). I experienced it all. Thank you Eric Gordon, for ending that ride on a positive note.

It's a win, I'll take that any day of the week. Vandy often plays Tennessee closer than they should. So there is no shame in "only" winning by 6.
Tennessee, you have a little brother that can put up a fight now. Let's be honest, James Franklin should win coach of year in the SEC. Yeah Saban, Miles, and Petrino may all win 12 games, but Vandy has 2-10 talent, they might go 6-6.
I said would go and did. I was wrong. There were more than 70,000 there. Not sure of real count, but probably close to 85 K. Frankly this was a shaky Tennessee Team and fan base. Regardless of how it went down between the opening kickoff and the final score, Tennessee won. The team went to student section and partied away. Most of the fans stayed in our seats for 15 or so minutes after the game. It's the first time in long time that's occurred. Many total strangers were ecstatic and telling my daughter and I about how much we needed win. OK, I know this wasn't LSU or Alabama, but it was a game we needed and we won.
I feel like we've finally gotten that monkey off of our back and really turned the corner as a team and a program. We were evenly matched with a team coming out of the first half. We came out in the 2nd, faced serious adversity throughout the have and managed to grit out a win. We haven't done that all year.
Tennessee honestly did not play to their greatest potential. Take away a Vandy interception, and give Tennessee 100% in the Red zone and this is a blow out. But still I am glad we won, and I am glad we sent these seniors who have all been through so much, out with a win.
Barney Don't lose perspective here. If you're playing the If game, the more likely "take away" is "take away the completely unnecessary block in the back and Vandy wins in regulation."
tidefan I was simply pointing out that I felt we dominated this game to a greater extent then the score indicated.
Barney But again, that's a matter of seeing what you want to see. Despite having 4 turnovers (the ones you want to forgive Tennessee, but use to point to dominance for the 'Dores), Vandy had only seven fewer yards than the Vols, the same number of first downs, and a better percentage on 3rd down. If that one foolish block in the back doesn't happen, UT doesn't get the chance to pull it out in overtime. In fact, the Vols had to come back from behind to get there. "Dominated" would not be the right word.
That said, congrats Vols fans. Vandy is a solid team, and this is the first time in Dooley's tenure that the Vols won as an underdog. That's a step in the right direction.
Barneytidefan I agree 100% Barn, as dominating a performance as I have seen all year.

Ummm, you do relize you ''dominated'' Vanderbilt right? Given they are a very good football team but y'all beat Vanderbilt. You are kind of supposed to ''dominate'' Vanderbilt.
Alabama And Tha U Fantidefan This isn't your typical Vanderbilt team. They still lose they just fight for it a bit more.
